Journey and Milestones

• Manish Bhatt (XFader) was nominated for the recent VH1 Sound Nation Awards and was among the top 5 Artist/Dj’s to be nominated from North India.
• X Fader is the first Indian DJ/Producer whose music videos have made it to all three international music channels – VH1, MTV, 9XO. He has also been featured on MTV Roots consecutively for two weeks (May 2013).
• Last year, X Fader’s singles – C’mon My People and “Bekhabar” also made it to MTV’s new channel – Pepsi MTV Indies. C’mon My People reached the Top 20 most popular music videos.
• X Fader was also nominated for the MyFav Awards 2016 (also in 2014 and then again in 2015), along with the MyPurpleMartini Nightlife Awards 2015.
• His DJ mixes have featured WORLDWIDE on the BBC several times. His latest mix tape premiered on the BBC last year in Sept. and has reached over 9K plays/downloads on his soundcloud profile page. Before that, he also did a live ‘Sholay’ tribute mix for the BBC.

• His album – ‘Jiwan’ / Life is as diverse as the cultures featured on it. With each track he flexes his production skills, fusing styles and inspirations from India to the Middle East, and also dropping down some Jamaican and Western flavors. Whilst many of the tracks have an ethnic flavor, X Fader’s foundation in DJing is clearly demonstrated, as each track has been carefully calibrated with a club audience in mind to blend smoothly into the latest Urban and Electronica music, something he has learnt from his DJ sets, dropping beats to club goers across the world. The album features artists from India, UK, USA, Jamaica, Syria and contains all new material, co-written by X Fader His music videos have also been on regular rotation on B4U Music (Worldwide except India & Middle East), 9XM (UK, Europe), BritAsia TV (UK) and other Asian music channels.
• As a DJ, he has become one of the hottest Asian DJs to perform at the leading venues of U.K. and India. With experience in all forms of clubs, events and venues he knows exactly what will get the crowd going. In the last couple of years, X Fader has been traveling between the UK and India (and now also U.A.E, Muscat) performing for various club nights and events. He recently just came back from the UK where he performed at one of the most exclusive venues of London – Vaudeville Club in Kensington on the 9th of Feb. Before that in 2017, he performed at another exclusive venue – Hyde, twice, on 5th of May and 30th of June. X Fader also performed in Birmingham at Prisma Nightclub on the 1st of July. Recently, in India, apart from handling various DJ contracts (Story at the Westin-Gurgaon, Sky Bar at the Royal Plaza-Delhi, Shiro at Samrat Hotel-Delhi, Sutra-Cyber Hub), he also performed at Playboy Club in Hyderabad, RSVP – Hotel Royal Plaza in Delhi, Warehouse Café, did a 3 city tour with 10 Downing Street (which included Chennai, Bhopal and Indore); also performed at Vapour Bar Exchange (HKV), Moonshine (HKV), Hybrid, Zai, Cafe High 5 (HKV) in Delhi. In September, he also performed for three nights in Dubai at the latest hotspot – The Hubb, at the Melia Hotel. Earlier last year, he has also performed at private events in Abu Dhabi and Muscat.
• Last year, in March, he performed for one of the biggest Indian music events/festivals in Europe for the fourth year in a row – ‘Holi Land’ Music Festival in London. Attendance this year and previous years have been over 3000 to 4000 people. Previous artists included Kanika Kapoor, Juggy D etc. and were sellout events. He also did another Holi event in Gurgaon – Holi Bolly 2016 on the 24th of March which was an exclusive event attended by around 1500 elite people of Gurgaon and Delhi. Zabardast Hit 95FM in Delhi was the radio partner for the event. • In 2016, he also performed for one of London’s most exclusive New Years Eve at WLYD, W Hotel – Leicester Square, London. In the past few years, X Fader has performed regularly at venues like Bonbonniere (Winner of best new club 2015), London’s most exclusive – Wyld at the W Hotel-Leicester Square, Cirque Le Soir, Noir-W1, concert venue – Studio 338, DSTRKT, Morton’s Club (Mayfair), Project (formerly Merah club), Babble Club (Mayfair), Apres, Mary Janes Bar, Altitude 360 and Guilt Bar & Lounge. • Before that, X Fader was in India and performed for various events. Cities included Delhi, Goa, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Dehradun and Agra. Previously he also consulted on the sound installation for a new club in Goa. In 2013, he was a regular feature at Kitty Su, The Lalit Hotel, New Delhi, which is reputed as being one of the best nightclubs in India and also made it to DJ Mag’s Top 100 clubs. Many other renowned international artists like Cedric Gervais, Deniz Koyu, Michael Calfan, Orla Feeney, Dinka, Kryder also performed on some of these club nights, which were certainly Delhi’s biggest nights that year.
• Since February 2014, X Fader was also a regular feature at Shiro, one of the most exclusive venues of Delhi, performing 4 nights a month until July 2014. • X Fader, has also had a good radio presence as a presenter both in the UK and in India. Between 2007 and 2008, he was part of HIT 95 FM (India), Delhi’s No.1 Radio Station where he handled production and ‘On Air’ work. In the UK, between 2006-2007, X Fader alongside DJ Sharma have had various opportunities to present shows on BBC 1xtra as the ‘Janam’ crew, and have also regularly provided exclusive mixes for some of the radio station’s shows
• Apart from the BBC, X Fader has appeared on various other radio stations like Kiss FM and Sweet FM several times, showcasing his acclaimed blend of Eastern and Western fusion.

Profile and Background

Starting his career whilst still in school at the age of sixteen, Manish Bhatt was one of the youngest in the business. Within his first six months in the business, his talent was recognized by Indian DMC Champ Sunny Sarid and was taken on board in his firm ‘Sound Of Music’, one of the biggest entertainment companies in Delhi. From there he then gained residencies at the top clubs in New Delhi including Mirage (The Crown Plaza), CJ’s (Le Meridian), Peppers (The Bristol), Turquoise Cottage (First DJ since inception) and later on at Sunny’s own renowned club ‘Café Sound Of Music’ (First DJ since inception till Sept. 2003). Apart from club Djing, he also performed at various high profile parties/events within the Bollywood Industry involving big names such as Amitabh Bachan, Sharukh Khan, Priety Zinta etc.

Under Sound of Music, he also performed with renowned Indian artists like Lucky Ali, Abhijeet, Nitin Bali, Anamika to name a few. While he was Resident DJ at Delhi’s No. 1 Venue at that time – ‘Café Sound Of Music’, he also came runner-up in the War of the DJ’s (Delhi, 2002) and was regarded amongst the top five DJ’s in Delhi.

The next big move was to go international and move to the UK. After being professionally trained in Electronic music production at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE, UK), he joined London’s leading Promotions and Production Company ‘Eclectic Breaks’ as a DJ and Producer. Under Eclectic Breaks, he was also the Resident DJ at the ‘Get Down’ – London’s legendary hip hop & r’n’b club night (Friday’s at Bar Rumba). He also played a key role in the development, product design, marketing and promotions for the ‘PRO X FADE’ – advanced cross fader technology. Manish was also responsible for organizing, managing demonstrations and showcasing company’s products at PLASA (Professional Lighting & Sound Association) exhibition in London for three consecutive years (2004-2006) and also London Calling exhibition for two consecutive years (2005 and 2006). Apart from obtaining sponsorships from Stanton, Gemini and Funktion-One, he was also representing, showcasing and demonstrating their products along with ‘Eclectic Breaks’ own products.During this time, Manish was also the Resident at ‘Bar Bollywood’ (Thursday’s & Saturday’s) – the first fully dedicated and longest running Asian Club in the most exclusive area of central London – Mayfair, which was regularly visited by Bollywood actors, directors/producers etc. This also made him the first DJ recruited from India to represent Bollywood Music in the UK. While he was in London, Manish performed at several corporate events for Laxmi Mittal’s company.

These were staff parties and many were private events as well. He also performed at corporate events for the BBC, Cobra Beer etc., also various student nights for universities like London Metropolitan, Thames Valley, Norwich University of Arts etc.

After 4 years of international experience and performing in countries like the U.K., Italy, Belgium, Canada and U.A.E, Manish Bhatt returned to India, where he worked with Hit 95 FM, Delhi’s No.1 Radio Station, as a presenter and part of the production team. As a radio presenter, Manish was extremely popular when he presented the live Evening Drive Time Show (daily, except Sundays, 5pm-10pm) which saw him not only playing a diverse range of music, but also speaking and interacting with listeners, taking requests, presenting quizzes, giving news/flash bulletins and updates. As a producer, X Fader’s many roles included producing and being the voice for many national/international brand products and services, along with voice over’s for the radio station’s in-house promos. He also conducted interviews with many high profile celebrities in the music, sports, film and fashion industry, including Brett Lee (cricketer), Karsh Kale, Shaggy, Outlandish to name a few.

Manish Bhatt has been the voice and has produced jingles for the following brands and companies: VH1, Toyota, Vodafone, Nescafe, History Channel, American Airlines X Box, Clinic All Clear, Carona (Beer), B4U Network, Club Asia Radio, Bank of India to name a few. During 2007-2009, while he was working at Hit 95 FM, he was also touring with Indian Super star DJ Bally Sagoo all over North India and also did many events with Hard Kaur.

Genre and Music Styles

Being diverse and the ability to adapt to different audiences has helped in gaining DJ residencies nationally and internationally. Manish is known for keeping a perfect balance between the club’s/radio’s music policy and the crowd’s requirements. He also strongly believes in educating his crowd to newer sounds and genres. This shows in the various different types of clubs, events and club nights he has been associated with.

The critically acclaimed ‘Janam’ series of mixes have been well received from both artists and the public. These mixes represent and showcase the blend of Eastern and Western music with unique turntablist skills, not being your usual ‘DJ’ mixes where one track changes from another.

Manish plays everything from Mainstream, Urban to House and all sorts of Electronica. He has also been professionally trained in Electronic music production at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE, UK – 2003 to 2004).
